20. John Call - Santa Claus Conquers The Martians
Santa Claus Conquers The Martians is entertainingly bad. Momar (Mom Martian) and Kimar (King Martian) believe that their kids, Girmar and Bomar are watching too much Earth TV, especially Santa Claus on KID-TV. In order for the kids to have more fun on Mars, Santa must be kidnapped.

They kidnap Santa and make him build toys in a factory. Eventually Kimar decides to make a martian Santa Claus out of Dropo, another silly martian. Santa gets sent back to Earth and I save you 81 minutes of time from watching the movie. John Call plays Santa.

This was John Call’s last major role in a movie or TV show since.


19. Bill Goldberg - Santa’s Slay

Santa’s Slay was directed by David Steiman, a former assistant of Brett Ratner of Rush Hour fame. The movie is about Santa Claus killing a bunch of locals. It turns out that Santa is actually Satan’s son that was forced to deliver toys as a result to losing a bet to Nicholas Yuleson’s grandfather, who is also an angel. Since the terms of the bet ended, Santa wanted to take his revenge out on everyone.

Professional wrestler Bill Goldberg plays Santa in Santa’s Slay. Goldberg also has roles in Looney Tunes: Back In Action, The Longest Yard, and Ready To Rumble.


18. Rickey Smiley - Friday After Next

Friday After Next is the third and last movie in the Friday series starring Ice Cube. Although this movie was not as good as the original, there were a few funny parts. Rickey Smiley dresses up as Santa Claus and robs Craig (Ice Cube) and Day-Day’s (Mike Epps) house.

Although Craig was able to give Santa a good bashing, he still managed to escape with their rent money and Christmas presents. Landlord Ms. Pearly threaten Craig and Day-Day that if she does not get her money, then she’ll send Damon after them. Damon is Ms. Pearly’s homosexual ex-convict son.

Rickey Smiley is a standup comedian and has performed on Comic View and Def Comedy Jam.


17. Edward Ivory - The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Night Before Christmas was co-written by Tim Burton. The story is about “Halloween Town” resident Jack Skellington. Skellington accidentally found “Christmas Town” and was impressed by the nature of the holiday. Skellington goes back to Halloween Town and tells his friends what he has seen.

People in Halloween Town capture Santa Claus and Jack eventually becomes the Santa Claus of Halloween Town. Jack even sets up his own sleigh made out of a coffin and delivers all sorts of creepy presents to everyone. The military shoots his sleigh down and Jack decides to focus more on Halloween once again.

Edward Ivory plays the voice of the actual Santa. Ivory also had minor roles in Nine Months and Quest of the Delta Knights.


16. John Goodman(voice) - Futurama (as Santa Claus Robot)
“Xmas Story” is the 4th episode in the second season of Futurama. When Fry was on a ski trip, he started to miss the 20th century Christmas way of celebrating. To bring back memories, Fry decides to buy Leela a present, but the gang warns him to be back before dark otherwise he may be murdered by the robotic Santa Claus, voiced by John Goodman.

Mom’s Friendly Robot Company made a robotic version of Santa Claus to automatically determine who has been naughty or nice, but a programming error caused the robot to believe everyone is naughty and want to murder them. Fry doesn’t make it back in time before dark and the gang end up having to battle robot Santa.


15. Mickey Rooney(Voice) - The Year Without A Santa Claus
Santa Claus, voiced by Mickey Rooney, wakes up with a cold and his doctor tells him that he should make a few changes in his present delivery routine. The elves, Jingle, and Jangle have to find people that still believe in Santa Claus despite his absence. One of the reindeers gets mistaken for a homeless dog and it gets sent to the pound. The mayor of South Town says that he will release the reindeer if Jingle and Jangle prove they are Santa’s elves by making it snow on Christmas Day.

This wasn’t the last time that Rooney would be playing Santa. He played Santa in the movie Wreck the Halls, The Happy Elf, The Love Boat, and Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July.


14. George Wendt - Santa Baby

Santa Baby stars 1994 Playmate of the Year, Jenny McCarthy and George Wendt as Santa Claus. Mary (McCarthy) is Santa’s daughter and businesswoman that runs a marketing company. When she finds out her dad is having health problems, she goes back to the North Pole to help out. When arriving back home, Mary applies her business skills to increase the performance of the elves. Around the same time, Mary also finds her childhood crush, Luke.

Wendt is best known for his role as Norm Peterson on Cheers. Wendt played Santa on Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas Spectacular and A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!


13. Jeff Gillen - A Christmas Story
You know the drill with A Christmas Story. Your middle school teacher didn’t feel like teaching squat on the days before the holidays, so he or she would just pop this in the VCR and leave the room for a while. A Christmas Story takes place in Hammond, Indiana. Nine year old, Ralphie Parker wants a BB gun for Christmas. But his mom, his teacher, and the mall Santa told him that she would shoot his eye out using one. As a matter of fact, the mall Santa booted Ralphie down the slide as he said "ho ho ho."

Jeff Gillen played the mall Santa. Gillen had small appearances in Police Academy 5, Dead of Night, and a couple of other 1960’s movies.

12. Jim Carrey - How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Jim Carrey played The Grinch, a character based on a Dr. Seuss book. Everyone in Whoville was getting ready for Christmas. Cindy Lou Who accidentally fell into a mail sorting machine, but the Grinch saves her. Cindy then begins to realize that The Grinch may not be the evil, twisted creature that the city makes him out to be. Cindy did research on The Grinch and found out that he was adopted by two lady Whos. The Grinch gave a present to his 3rd grade crush, but the whole class laughed at him. After that, he went crazy and broke all the Christmas decorations in the room and ran away to Mount Crumpit.

Cindy brought The Grinch to the Holiday Cheermaster ceremony, but the Mayor ends up humiliating The Grinch. The Grinch then decides to make himself a Santa suit and builds a rocket sled using his dog as the reindeer. The Grinch stole the presents from everyone in Whoville, but he was not able to take away their Christmas spirit. After feeling guilty, The Grinch decided to return everything.

Jim Carrey is known best for his slapstick roles in movies such as Ace Ventura, The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, Fun with Dick and Jane, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, The Truman Show, etc.


11. Leslie Nielsen - All I Want For Christmas
All I Want For Christmas is a movie about two kids from New York wanting their parents to get back together for Christmas. The two kids, Catherine and Michael team up to find a way to get rid of Tony Boer (played by Kevin Nealon), a businessman that has a love interest with their mother. The kids use Santa as a resource to achieving their wish. Santa is played by Leslie Nielsen in this movie.

Nielsen has been acting in movies since 1956. His most famous movies are Airplane!, The Naked Gun series, and Scary Movie 3 and 4.


10. Douglas Seale - Ernest Saves Christmas
Ernest Saves Christmas stars Jim Varney as Ernest. In this movie, Ernest is working as a taxi driver that picks up a man that claims he is Santa Claus (played by Douglas Seale). Santa was supposed to appear on on a TV show hosted by Joe Currethers (played by Oliver Clark) to inform the audience that he is the new Santa. After arriving to the destination, Santa uses "play money" as the fare. This gets Ernest fired from his job. Making matters worse, Santa also left his sack of toys in the car.

Joe does not believe Santa says who he is and has him arrested. To help Santa get out of prison, Ernest dresses up as a friend of the governor and convinces the police chief that Santa is insane and needs to go to solitary confinement. Ernest gets the sack back to Santa and is allowed to drive the sleigh for the next year.

Seale played the voice of the Sultan in Aladdin and had small roles in For Love or Money, Growing Pains, Cheers, and Family Ties.

9. Edward Asner - Elf
Elf is a comedy from 2003 that stars Will Ferrell as Buddy the elf and Edward Asner as Santa Claus. Buddy was an infant that crawled into Santa’s bag hen he was delivering presents and was taken back to the North Pole. The elves did not know where he came from but ended up raising him anyway. When Buddy grows up, he overhears the other elves reveal that Buddy is a human. Confused about what to do, Buddy goes to Papa Elf for advice. Papa Elf tells Buddy that his real father is Walter Hobbs, a children’s book publishshing company executive in New York City. Buddy goes to New York to find his biological father and runs into many mishaps along the way.

Asner’s most famous role was Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.


8. James Belushi - Jingle All The Way
Jingle All The Way is a film from 1996 that stars Arnold Schwarznegger, Sinbad, Phil Hartman, Rita Wilson and Jim Belushi. In the opening scene of Jingle All The Way, Jamie Langston (played by Jake Lloyd) is watching an episode of Turbo Man. Jamie’s mom tells him to turn it off and get ready for karate grading. His father Howard Langston (played by Schwarznegger) promised to attend, but couldn’t make it due to work. Feeling guilty, Howard asks his son what he wants for Christmas and he says that he wants a Turbo Man action figure. Turbo Man was the most wanted toy of the Christmas season and Howard found himself fighting with Myron Larabee (Sinbad) for the toy.

The mall Santa (played by Belushi) and his midget sidekick approach Howard and make him an offer for a Turbo-Man doll for $300. Howard accepts and finds out that the doll actually speaks Spanish. The head and the arm also falls off on the toy and that makes Howard angry. The result is a fight between Howard, Santa, and all the elves.

Belushi is best known for his role on American TV sitcom, According to Jim.


7. Richard Attenborough - Miracle On 34th Street (1994)
Miracle on 34th Street is about a little girl that does not believe in Santa Claus so she doesn’t expect to get any good gifts. However she runs into a department store Santa that ends up being the real thing.

The mall Santa is played by Richard Attenborough. Attenborough plays John Hammond in the Jurassic Park series and has been acting in movies since 1942. Attenborough has also directed several movies including the movie documentary about Mahatma Gandhi.

6. Michael Constantine - Prancer
Prancer is a family movie made in 1989 starring Sam Elliott, Cloris Leachman, Rebecca Harrell, and Michael Constantine. Nine year old Jessica Riggs still believes in Santa Claus. Because of this, her peers make fun of and throw rocks at her. One day Jessica runs into a reindeer in the forst, but no one believed her. The reindeer is wounded so Jessica nurses it back to health. Jessica then becomes determined to contact Santa and let him know about where to find Prancer. Michael Constantine plays Santa in the movie.

Constantine is one of the main characters in My Big Fan Greek Wedding. Constantine has been acting since 1959.


5. Tom Hanks(voice) - The Polar Express
The Polar Express is a live action animated movie that stars Tom Hanks. On Christmas Eve, a young boy wants to believe in the spirit of Christmas. The boy has been staying up all night waiting for Santa. When the boy fell asleep he dreams about a magic train called the Polar Express pulling up to his house. The train conductor invites the boy aboard and they journey to the North Pole. At the North Pole, Santa chooses the boy to receive the first gift on Christmas. The boy decides that he wants a bell from Santa’s sleigh. The next morning the boy and his sister open a small present and it turns out to be the bell.

Tom Hanks plays the voice of Santa Claus in the movies. Hanks is one of the most famous actors of his generation, starring in movies such as Splash, Dragnet, Big, Turner and Hooch, Joe Versus the Volcano, Philadelphia, Sleepless in Seattle, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan, Cast Away, Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal, and The Da Vinci Code movie.


4. Paul Giamatti - Fred Claus
Fred Claus is a comedy film starring Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, Kevin Spacey, Ludacris, Elizabeth Banks, and Miranda Richardson. Fred Claus (played by Vaughn) is the brother of Santa Claus (played by Paul Giamatti) have not gotten along for quite some time. When efficiency expert Clyde Northcutt assesses the working conditions of Santa’s workshop, he threatens to have them shut-down. Fred decides to forget his differences with his brother and help save Christmas.

Giamatti also starred in Shoot ‘Em Up, The Nanny Diaries, Lady in the Water, Cinderella Man, Paycheck, American Splendor, and Dr. Dolittle.

3. Richard Riehle - Hebrew Hammer
Hebrew Hammer stars Adam Goldberg, Judy Greer, Andy Dick, Mario Van Peebles, Peter Coyote, and Richard Riehle. The movie is about a Jewish superhero named The Hebrew Hammer that has to save Hanukkah from Santa’s evil son who wants to destroy it and make everyone celebrate Christmas instead.

The movie opens with Mordechai Carver sitting on a stoop with a Sandy Koufax lunch box. Mordechai is the only Jewish kid in a Christian school and celebrates Hanukkah when everyone else celebrates Christmas. One day Mordechai is playing with his dreidel on the sidewalk and Santa steps on it and gives Mordechai the finger. Several years later Mordechai grows up and becomes the Hebrew Hammer. At the North Pole, Santa was killed by his evil son Damian, who took over the Santa throne. Mordechai as the Hebrew Hammer was selected to stop Damian from making everyone celebrate only Christmas. Mordechai partners with Mohammed Ali Paula Abdul Rahiem of the Kwanzaa Liberation Front to put an end to Damien’s terror.

Santa Claus was played by Richard Riehle. You may remember Riehle as the guy that came up with the "Jump to Conclusions" mat idea in Office Space.

2. Tim Allen - The Santa Clause, The Santa Clause 2, The Santa Clause 3
The Santa Clause series are movies that star Tim Allen. In the first movie Tim plays Scott Calvin, a divorced father with a son that ends up yelling at a trespasser on his roof. When the trespasser fell off the roof, Calvin finds out that it is Santa Claus. Santa Claus disappears but leaves a note behind that says that if anything were to happen to him, then someone should put on the suit and climb into the sleigh. To please his son, Scott puts on the suit and becomes Santa. However, Scott finds himself becoming instantly fatter, grows a white beard, and becomes obsessed with Christmas treats.

In the second movie, Scott has to find a Mrs. Claus. It ends up being his son’s principal. And in the third movie, Santa battles with Jack Frost (played by Martin Short) who is upstaging all of the other holiday icons.

Tim Allen is best known for his role as Tim "The Toolman" Taylor on Home Improvement and as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story.

1. Billy Bob Thorton - Bad Santa
Bad Santa was directed by the Coen brothers and stars Billy Bob Thorton, Tony Cox, John Ritter, Bernie Mac, and Lauren Graham.

Willie Soak is a bitter alcoholic who hates is job as a mall Santa. What gets him through the job is his ability to crack the safeboxes at department stores, thus making a killing every year. He is only able to pull off this feat with his dwarf friend, Marcus (played by Tony Cox) who plays the role of Santa’s elf. After Willie starts working at the store managed by Bob Chipeska he is caught having sex in a changing room with a lady. Bob threatens to fire them but slips his tongue, thus accusing him of being racist. Chipeska reconsiders firing Marcus and Willie, but has his security officer Gin investigate Willie’s home to see if he can find another reason to fire him.

Willie ends up taking residence with a little kid that believes that he is the real Santa. Never in my life would I have thought that Billy Bob Thorton would have played Santa and do such a good job at it. But Band Santa proved me wrong. It’s one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in my life.
